At the heart of my work is an embrace of the Japanese aesthetic of Wabi-sabi — the belief that beauty exists in imperfection, irregularity, and the natural process of change.

Each garment I create is dyed by hand using an ice-dye technique, where powdered fiber-reactive dyes are placed on fabric and slowly transformed as melting ice carries the color through the fibers. As the ice dissolves, the pigments separate, blend, and travel in unpredictable ways, producing stunning color splits, soft gradients, and flowing patterns that often resemble watercolor paintings.

No two pieces can ever be duplicated.

The slow melting of the ice allows the dye to move naturally, creating textures that feel organic, weathered, and alive — a perfect reflection of the wabi-sabi philosophy. What might seem accidental becomes the most beautiful part of the design.
